sunrise on the bend

Managed to catch this shot at sunrise. There wasn't many clouds that morning but the sky was very blue and it made my shot a lot better then the ones i got in december when there was no color at all in the sky.

I was born and raised in Michigan and lived there until I was 34 years old. In 1981, my husband and I moved our family out to Tucson, Arizona and I have lived here ever since. I have 5 children; all are grown up and moved out. Hoorah! My children have moved around in their lives due to work and what have you, but ultimately, all came back to live and start families of their own in Tucson. I am very close to retiring and am looking forward to traveling more and spending more time with my favorite hobby, photography.

I started shooting photography when I was 6 years old. My first camera that I ever owned was a little Kodak Brownie. I’ve had many cameras since then, both point-and-shoot and 35mm cameras. In the early 1970’s, I purchased a Canon AE1 and it ended up being one of my favorite cameras I have ever owned. I just loved it. To this day, Canon’s AE1 is still a favorite of mine. It was just an all around great camera. From time to time, I still contemplate purchasing another one, just to play around with it.

A few years ago, I finally took the plunge and went digital. My oldest son had gone digital just shortly before this and I got to use Canon's 300D. I was impressed with how far digital had come in such a short time. It was at this point that I decide to purchase Canon’s latest camera out on the market, the 20D. I was in heaven. No more film, instant access to every photo I could take, changing film speed whenever I wanted. I had the 20D for several years until the 40D came out in 2007. Canon keeps making awesome advancements and my retirement can’t come fast enough, so I can devote more time to photography.

This web site and my photo gallery is my outlet to share my photos with friends and family. I have a wide variety of interests when it comes to photography. I love taking photos of flowers, landscapes, and anything else that captures my eye. No matter where my travels take me or whatever I capture with my camera, my photo gallery will always reflect my current activities.
