Fourth of July

Filed under: News — Ken @ 4:24 pm

Well I hope everyone’s fourth of July was a blast. I had a great time photographing the fireworks. I ended up on the roof of the downtown Tucson Police Department building. This wasn’t by chance, of course. In fact, we all had such a good time that it might very well turn into an annual meeting place for the fireworks. If you’re in Tucson, don’t expect the police to be handing out tickets to their very own hot spot for fireworks photography. It’s all about who you know. Or in my case, family. 99% of mine works for one law enforcement agency or another. My wife and I are probably the black sheep, since we’re the only Fed’s in the family.

The monthly photo on the main page is from last nights photo shoot in downtown Tucson. I had to crop some of it to display nicely on the main page. Unfortunately, it’s not exactly what I’d call web safe. It’s something like 80k, so that should explain the long load time for dial up people. Sorry.

I hope everyone else had a safe holiday and came away with a few keeper firework photos to hang on your walls for years to come. None of mine were nice enough to dazzle my mind however. I don’t think Tucson provides a great location for that awesome 4th of July print. Still, I’ll keep searching. I have an idea for next year that might enable me to capture both the fireworks and Tucson in the background. I’ll keep my fingers crossed until then though. . .
