On our recent trip to Yellowstone, this was taken at a little side stop off the main road in Yellowstone. We initially stopped to see Lewis Falls. Due to the time of day, the water falls was extremely bright to take decent landscape shots of. On the opposite side of the road, I setup the tripod and captured this shot.
This river is mostly from Lewis Lake. The water flows on through Lewis and Snake River into the Columbia River and eventually into the Pacific Ocean. I'm not sure if you can see in the scaled down version of this, but there were several fly fishermen all along this river as we drove up to Lewis Falls. Two of them are visible and as a surprise, two hawks or some sort of raptors made it into the photo as well. Off in the distance is the Grand Tetons.
Gorgeous! Wish I could have gone.
