Here is a perfect example of a missed opportunity. This particular parking lot had been resurfaced a few months ago and the yellow arrow really stood out against the fresh asphalt. Unfortunately, I was never able to get over there before hundreds of cars had driven across it and faded the black with dirt and oil. Even after a recent rain, I still didn't capture that deep blackness that I was hoping for by the wetness of the rain in this shot. Regardless, the yellow arrow photo didn't do much for me in the end, so I made it a mini series of two arrows to add interest. What are your thoughts on two photos in one?
This photo was part of a "macro lens" photo project I assigned to myself for the month of December (31 photos in all). I wanted to do something to spur some creativity, and get me to try something completely different that would get me out of my comfort zone. My mom also decided to partake in this assignment on her web site.
I like the first of the two arrows, the white painted on the blacktop. The other doesn't do much for me. The two combined is fine, but I think the painted arrow would have had a stronger effect by itself.
