Most prickly pear cactus have yellow, red or purple flowers, even among the same species. They vary in height and can grow up to 6 or 7 feet. Prickly pear cactus can be found in all of the deserts of the American Southwest. Technically, the composition and focus of this photo isn't going to win any awards. However, I wanted to share this since I was able to catch one of the bugs on his way to visiting the cactus. To me, this sets aside photography for a brief moment and sets a little different mood when viewing this photo.
This is breathtaking and shocking at the same time. I can hear the insect.
