The torch cactus is becoming a fast favorite of mine. Simply because there are multiple variations of it and when they bloom, it's like no other cactus bloom you've ever seen. This particular photo was taken a while back, however while perusing some of the archive photos, I saw an opportunity to crop this and turn it into a photo worth sharing. I actually like both versions, but the original got mixed reviews between the men and women. Since it's a girly subject, I deferred to the women, which was to crop it.
It's a beautiful photo. However, i wonder why photographers often shy from sharing the details of camera gear and settings used for shooting. I f one did that, it would provide a keen photographer an opportunity to learn from the experience of others. Remember the wisdom of poet Wordsworth's rhyme: The Child is father of the Man. To me it means, each contributes to the growth of the other and no one is complete in oneself in spite of differing talents and circumstances.
