This is nothing more than a close up shot of a marble style tile that I captured in downtown Tucson. In trying to capture something unique with a macro lens, this was one of many, very different shots I captured that I liked.
This photo was part of a "macro lens" photo project I assigned to myself for the month of December (31 photos in all). I wanted to do something to spur some creativity, and get me to try something completely different that would get me out of my comfort zone. My mom also decided to partake in this assignment on her web site.

Well, this is much easier! It's a metamorphic rock. I am guessing part of the wall of a building or a pavement. You just pleased the geologist in me! :)

Oh... I read your text in after I commented. I am so disappointed, for once I knew what it was, but there was not contest! ;)

I didn't think this would be a hard one to figure out, so I named it. Sorry, CJ.

This could be very useful as a texture!
