Downtown Tucson has some very unique as well as very old doors and locks. The paint, one can assume, is as old as the doors themselves. In this photo, you can see at least three different colors of paint that have been used on the door and frame over the years.
This photo was part of a "macro lens" photo project I assigned to myself for the month of December (31 photos in all). I wanted to do something to spur some creativity, and get me to try something completely different that would get me out of my comfort zone. My mom also decided to partake in this assignment on her web site.

Love the colors and the antic look to this. Don't go too near that paint: it probably contains lead!!!
I loved the last three shots, they are very well composed and well exposed, and are pleasing to watch.

Now all we need is a key to see what's behind this! ;-)

I have no doubt that there is a fair share of lead in this paint. I already want to go back and get an even closer shot of this lock, all by itself, just to see if I can isolate the lock to show just the rust and all the nicks and weather of this lock. A cropped version of the original, with just the lock itself shows a lot of details that are hard to see in this photo.
