Just one question. Why "Press to Operate Door"? What else would it do? Ok, that's two questions but still. Why?

This photo was part of a "macro lens" photo project I assigned to myself for the month of December (31 photos in all). I wanted to do something to spur some creativity, and get me to try something completely different that would get me out of my comfort zone. My mom also decided to partake in this assignment on her web site.
