I was out trying to capture some lightning photos a couple weeks ago and, well, it was pretty much a bust. So, I went out shooting a couple of other ideas I had. Those too, were a bust. Fortunately, I kept my eyes open and noticed this warmly lit Auto-Spkr. I just liked the warm glow the lamp was casting off on the decorative brick work. I had to look up what Auto Spkr meant. I figured it had something to do with sprinklers, but I didn't know exactly. Auto Spkr means it's connected to the automatic fire sprinkler system in the building. The fire department can attach hoses to this, and pump water into it at a high pressure, thus getting more water on the fire through the sprinkler system. Flickr has an entire Auto-Sprk group set up, if you want to see other photos like this.
