This was taken from a helicopter ride I took a while back. As we were on our way back to Tucson, we were zig zagging through the desert trying to make our way through the incoming storm without getting hit by lightning.
As with most rain storms in Tucson, you can sit there and watch the incoming rain as a wall of gray come across the horizon and slowly engulf you when you are on the ground.
This storm was all around us and we continued to fly through areas where the storm wasn't. I got a nice lightning show, plus watching the storm coming across the desert floor but never being enveloped in it, was also a show in itself.
