On our trip to Lochiel, Az, I joked around with my sister about taking a picture of this dead tree and send it to our Mom. The joke, is that if there is some dead foliage, be it a tree or a cactus, Mom always seems to take a picture of it. Well the joke back fired on me when I went to process this, I actually liked the photo. It's not an award winning photo by any means, and definitely has flaws in the composition for my tastes, but I think it was the clarity/sharpness in the photo and the black/white processing that drew me to like this.

did you happen to notice that the lower limbs look like they are reaching for a gun or something?? rather interesting

As mom would say "it's not dead, it's deciduous"

Seeing Barbara's comment, It obviously had enough character that she would have taken a photo of it too! You're slowly turning into mom.

I love this picture. The tree looks human-like, an old man or woman bent over.
