I've tried numerous times to capture a photo of Gila Woodpeckers on one palm tree before. This is by far the closest I've came to what's in my minds eye when going for a capture such as this. Even still, I had to crop the photo, which isn't something I'm fond of doing. I typically like to keep the original at it's original size. Don't ask me why.

Saw two of these yesterday on a palm tree outside of my yard with binoculars, In Mesa Az. they were Gila Wood Peckers, very long black bills and tounges thank you Ken for having pictures of these species never saw before.
