Zero Gravity is the name of this ride. From the looks of the ride, I believe people step in and get strapped in while they are standing. Then this thing spins around and around, forcing them (most likely) to feel like they weigh 500 pounds or more. At one point, the entire ride lifts up into the air. The most difficult part of this shot? In a crowded fair, the thing I was most cautious of, was with the people not seeing a black tripod and tripping over it, or worse, making the camera go flying onto the concrete. I kept a firm hand on the tripod at all times, just in case.
It should be noted that about sixty seconds after capturing this photo and breaking down my equipment, security stopped me. It seems that I was not allowed to shoot photos on a tripod at the fair. At least not without checking in and getting a media pass first. Why a media pass would make everything OK and allow me to shoot on a tripod is beyond me. In any case, it was fine with me. I had captured everything I was going to capture for the night anyway.
