I captured this bird after several hours of missed photographs and very little effort on my part. I had seen this bird flittering (if that is a word) from mesquite tree to the ranch house in Lochiel, Az for a while. When I finally noticed that it was a bird I had never seen before, it piqued my interest. So, for a few minutes I tried to wait it out and capture the bird as it would fly past. As always, I waited and waited and the bird wouldn't come by the same flight path it was doing earlier. Fortunately for me however, I didn't have to waste my own time. I decided to utilize my new intervalometer. After a few minutes of programming the intervalometer, I set up the tripod and camera to capture the bird on his own flight path. The timer was set to capture one photograph at one minute intervals.
Fast forward an hour and I notice this bird changed its landing spot to another area. So, I adjust the camera and let it continue taking photos by itself. Guess what? It changed its landing spot to the previous one. UGGH! This went on for another hour and when I was finally going to give up and break everything down, luck happened. The bird came by just long enough for me to grab a few shots of it on a new landing spot. This was the only one I was able to capture that was in perfect focus, but it was good enough for me.
