Anyone from the coast, East or West, could care less about Seagulls. When I lived in Hawaii, we called them rats with wings. These things ate just about anything you threw at them, that they thought was food. It's isn't until you live inland for a while, that you start missing common shorebirds. So, whenever I visit California, I usually end up taking a few photos of seagulls. If for nothing else than for my own collection of avian photos.
