This is a memorial that was created to honor nine year old Christina Taylor Green. She, along with Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords and 18 others, were the victims of the shooting that took place at a Safeway store in Tucson. The same Safeway that my family and I coincidentally shop at. By request, I took this photo for a high school friend of my wife's who needed a photo of the memorial for a project he was working on for the Green family.
When I arrived, it was immediately clear that this was going to be a difficult photo to shoot. It literally is in the outfield of a baseball field. Unfortunately, to get a shot of this straight on, would show a bathroom building behind it. So, I had to get creative and shoot from a different angle. I still got the batting cages, but batting cages on any day is a better site than a bathroom. I took three photos and created a high dynamic range (HDR) photo. This helped make the clouds a little more moody. The lighting from the heavens I later created in Photoshop with a few simple Photoshop brushes.

This is another beautiful photograph! It is certainly one that truly reflects the spirit of the sculpture.
Congrats! Very well done, Sir Ken -
