I had been getting the itch to try my hand at star trails again recently and one day I just decided I'd go out, spur of the moment style. The day I decided to go out, an idea popped into my head about going out to the San Xavier Mission. It's a very old mission that was built back in the late 1700's. I thought it would be a perfect spot to try. It's on the outskirts of Tucson, so the city lights shouldn't be too bad. As it turned out, the city lights was minimal and the weather ended up being perfect. The only issue was that the road that went right by the mission had a lot of traffic that night. This is why the mission is lit up so bright. A friend from work came out and tried his hand at star trails as well. Having someone to talk to while taking hours of photos really made the time go by. We had a great time and will most likely go out again. If anyone is interested in trying to shoot star trails, let me know. Perhaps we can schedule something in the near future.

Super fun shot! You definitely need to grab more friends and do more of these in 2013.
