On our last day in Sedona, my wife and I decided to take a trip up to Slide Rock State Park and let our genetic experiment take a swim. None of us had ever been here before. We've driven by countless times on our way up to Oak Creek Canyon, but we never stopped. We got to see the park, and then some. We missed our cut off for the walk down to the slide rock/stream area. We ended up taking the three mile trek back in to the very top of slide rock and then another three miles back to the turn off. Once we made it down to the bottom by the water, we probably ended up walking another mile to the swim area. Needless to say, we were sweating bullets on this very muggy day.
