Once you get hit by the lightning bug, you pretty much will go out in any kind of weather, any time of the day. In this shot, it had been several days and nights since we had a good lightning storm in Tucson. So, at eight in the morning, I head out to capture an early morning storm cell. The hard part about capturing daytime storms, is you have so much light to contend with. That's where a good multi-stop neutral density filter comes in handy. Even then, it's still difficult to capture a bolt or two in one frame, without taking hundreds of photos.
