Out of all the hot air balloons I captured at Tubac's Hot Air Balloon Festival, this was probably my favorite of the night. There were several things going against me when capturing these beautifully colored balloons on this evening. The biggest was the wind and the second biggest was the lighting that the Tubac Golf Resort decided to put up at night to help illuminate the ground for people. I'm not saying that they shouldn't have lighting, but from a photographers standpoint, the lighting shouldn't be directed at the photographers. Turn the lights around, so that we aren't getting our photos washed out by the harsh lighting. We'd come away with better photographs and this event will get a better wow factor from our photographs when we show them off for free publicity. Regardless, prior to the lighting being turned on, the photos were much easier to capture but the downside was that not very many balloons had gone up until after it got dark and the lights came on.
