My mom, son and I all took a really, really early drive out of Tucson and down to the small town of Dragoon one morning. I had a brilliant idea to capture the Texas Canyon rocks that are along Interstate 10 during a sunrise. The downside to this whole plan was that it was really, really dark when we arrived and we could not find a decent spot to capture Texas Canyon. Also, we didn't think the right lighting would even hit the rocks at this time of year anyway, based on where the sun was rising. So, we turned around and went in search of a place to capture the sunrise head on. It was a nice one too and well worth the drive, in my opinion. This photo is a series of three photos merged together to make this a high-dynamic range sunrise.
