Believe it or not, this bloom is from a tree. At least once a year, I look forward to seeing this Crimson Star Adenium tree bloom out at the Arizona Sonoran-Desert Museum in Tucson. I captured this close to 10:30 am, after the sun had made it's way up in the sky. It wasn't the most flattering of light, so I practiced my hand at some low key lighting with my 500EX II flash. The result was a zero depth of field and a nice black background to get the flower to stand out.
