The beauty of monsoon storms is you never know what you will capture. Each storm brings new lightning bolts, challenges and especially dangers. The best places to capture lighting, unfortunately, is typically high above the city so that you have an unobstructed view of the storms. Like last weeks shot, this one is another lightning storm I captured in July 2013, as a heavy storm crossed over the Tortolita Mountains in Tucson. Over the past few years, I have experimented with different compositions. This particular shot, I went for more sky and less mountains. The lightning itself wasn't as prominent or as bright as I had liked.
