The most difficult part in obtaining a sunrise photo at White Sands, New Mexico, is getting there early enough before sunrise. Normally, this would be really easy. Just get up early and go. The problem is/was, the gates don't open until 7 am. Just minutes before sunrise. We arrived with only a couple cars ahead of us. Getting through the gate was easy and, as we would soon find out, the two cars in front of us were also photographers. We never saw them, but we knew they shared our desires. To find a spot with the sweet light, before the sun was too high in the sky. We know they shared the same desire because, well, let's just say driving 70+ MPH through the park is a bit excessive.
