I didn't quite get the color I was hoping for in this photo, unlike last week's photo. This is mostly due to shooting to the left of the sunrise. I came with the intent of getting a full grown yucca plant in White Sands, New Mexico, and that's precisely what I went for here. I ended up using my 400mm to compose this shot. Sounds crazy, but I didn't want to get close only to find that I needed to move to another location to better compose the shot. All I would have ended up doing, is putting footsteps in the sand and I didn't want that. The 100-400mm lens helped me do the walking for me, without disturbing the sand.
