This photo of the dunes in White Sands, New Mexico is a combination of two exposures, blended together in Photomatix and then touched up in Photoshop. The original photos had very little color in them, which made black and white the obvious choice. Converting to black and white really brought out the natural lighting on the dunes and made the shadows stand out that much more.
